Chinyere Njeze

Chinyere Njeze is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. Moving to Canada in 2017 from Nigeria, Chinyere is primarily conducting community-based research with African, Black, and Caribbean women who have HIV or AIDS in Winnipeg, Manitoba, while also advancing ongoing research around Indigenous youth health and wellness—and the health and wellbeing of racialized immigrants and refugees in Manitoba. Chinyere has a B.Sc. in Botany/Biochemistry and a MA in Health Management, Planning, and Policy from the University of Leeds, UK. She is passionate about the links between research and social justice and employs an intersectionality framework in her applied work.
