Luca Gheorghica

Investigaytor

Opre Roma, I’m Luca Gheorghica (they/them/theirs/he/him/his). I was conceived in a communist jail in Sibiu Romania, I would only be moved to be transferred from orphanage to orphanage before turning 3 . When I arrived in Canada, I would face a world of challenges and difficulties. I would endure many hospital inpatient treatments. I grew up in a world of institutions where doctors and nurses became my parent figures. I’m a person with lived experience. I enjoy art and public speaking. I’m currently volunteering at 16 different positions while working towards my final gender reassignment surgery.

I am a community-based, community focused, and community driven advocate for trans and gender queer experiences and poverty reduction. I believe in reducing harm by meeting those in life where they are at, at any given time by using a trauma- informed approach.

It’s nice to meet you,

“Tell a Trans person you love them because tomorrow is not guaranteed. From one trans person to another, I see you. I hear you. I care. You are loved. Love is louder.”
