They currently spend most of their time learning on Treaty 1, where they are doing their Master of Nursing at the University of Manitoba. Their thesis work explores the experiences of gender-inclusive and affirming practices among undergraduate nursing students and faculty. Their scoping review protocol on this subject was published in BMJ Open. Jess is a Canadian Institute of Health Research Canada Graduate (Master’s) Scholar and Canadian Nurses Foundation (Tylenol® Fund to Advance Diversity in Nursing and Health Equity Research Scholarship) Scholar.
